USCIS proposes lengthening TN admissions to three years

On May 7, 2008 USCIS released the text of a proposed rule that would lengthen TN admissions from one year to three years. This would make the TN category a more workable alternative to the H-1B and L categories. At present, TNs are available to workers from Mexico and Canada who have job offers in the United States in one of approximately sixth professional categories. This is just a proposed rule which has been published for comment. It is NOT yet in effect.
